He takes a dig at 'ideological communism' and says they are caged in their own narrow ideologies, but don't realize that.TruthSeeker wrote:Please translate the gist.

They believe that if they come to power, there would be 'sama samajam' equality for all. But that cannot be achieved by anyone unless they have the 'samantvam' (the spirit of oneness) in their hearts. That's the 'spiritual communism'. That's what Advaita is about. That's what is needed. He takes a dig at the divisions due to castes.

Thanks Kinnera.
Then someone please ask him - Why is China ahead of India? :-)
In practise - does China fare better than India in practising "samantvam" ? (the spirit of oneness), while still rooted in communism?
IMHO - Indian youth may be taught in schools to feel patriotic, but as an adult, its a shame that Bhagat Singh's village does not have toilets in 2015; or thousands of youth are killed in the name of caste? millions insulted?
Such a freedom which only helps higher caste people, or helps people based on their birth and insults/kills others in the name of lower birth, is far worse than Chinese system.
Regards and thanks again,
TS.

Re: I'm listening to...
Is there freedom without fear among the chinese? spiritual oneness, not material oneness? contentment and no mad rush for more material stuff? I guess not.
Extreme patriotism is also not good. In the broader sense, patriotism is no different than casteism, regionalism, fanaticism for one's language, culture, etc. Hitler was an great patriot too.
India is not there yet.

Bhagat Singh's patriotism aint extreme.
Nor is Chinese materialism. As compared to Indian.
My point was - Communism as practiced by China is still better than casteism as practiced by India.
We are a country of argumentative folks, who claim women as our Goddesses. "Oneness" in our Slokas. But in practise, we rape women, and murder people of lower castes based on birth. Not as an exception, but on "mass scale".
And "that" defines us. Not our scriptures.
We are unable to practise "basic communism" but claim to practise "democracy" in a corrupt system.
We can play with words all night long.
Anyways,

Re: I'm listening to...
ya, that's what the orator was lamenting. We have it all in the Geeta and Yoga Vasishta, but we don't practice it.
