>>>To the extent I have followed this, there seem to be holes in her side of the story as well. I heard the Italian prosecutor raise some valid points some time ago. Also, Italy probably has different parameters for guilt, although the judicial back and forth on deciding on her guilt is puzzling. Even if the Italian Supreme court had ruled against her, I don't think the US would have extradited her. Double jeopardy where someone is tried for the same crime twice is not permissible in the US and the extradition agreement, I think, calls for the person being punishable within the extraditing country's legal framework. Since the US has a problem with double jeopardy, her lawyers could have hung their hats on it. Anyway, if she is truly not guilty, I am glad her nightmare is over.Kinnera wrote:...after eight years of nightmare!

Ya, she was on alcohol and drugs that fateful night and doesn't seems to be sure what happened. The investigation was all botched up too. But i guess, they were released because there's no strong evidence to prove that they are guilty nor innocent. When in doubt, it's better to declare them innocent coz what if they really are innocent. it would be terrible to convict someone who's innocent.Kris wrote:>>>To the extent I have followed this, there seem to be holes in her side of the story as well.
