..... about the killing of red sander smugglers..... Apparently, the killed smugglers are from TN. A few months ago, AP asked TN to return the wood caught being illegally transported across the border into TN. The TN govt. refused to do that and made a lot of money for itself. AP govt. is now taking firm steps to stop the wood being taken into TN. I am sure, in future, red sander smugglers from TN will think twice before indulging in this activity. Well done, CBN.

Teak wood used to be smuggled from Kerala to Coimbatore for construction in early days as there was not much development there at that time. Now it is smuggling from AP (the new backward state) to the construction industry in Madras. The rich always can get what they want from somewhere.

Good that that AP Govt took action...of course, CBN wants the money for himself not to save the forest/trees.

Apparently, the guys who cut the trees are poor people controlled by powerful politicians (in TN & AP). May be, they are the ones who should be exposed and punished.

Of course... if only both CMs catch the "leaders" (or businessmen) involved in this stealing operation and convict them there will be any credibility.

Wait...what am I dreaming of...This is India we are talking.

????

The guys who are cutting the trees should obviously be punished as well. They know that what they are doing is wrong.

Six days after a state anti-smuggling task force fatally shot 20 loggers in the state of Andhra Pradesh, saying officers had opened fire in self-defense during a chaotic confrontation, two witnesses told India’s National Human Rights Commission on Monday that the workers had been detained when they were riding buses toward a work site, then shot while in custody.
