When you know that driving conditions in India are less than ideal, how can you even think about driving while intoxicated? and zipped down at high speeds too?

no. i was indulging in rash and negligent driving under the influence of alcohol. had there been people sleeping on the circle, i would have killed them. i had stated pretty clearly in that thread that salman (by extension me) should be punished -- my observations were only as to under which sections? reckless driving leading to death of people or culpable homicide not amounting to murder. the fact that the street lights were not functioning and that i was drunk does help my defense and does help me prove that my intention was not to kill. if i mow down people in a sober state then clearly i had an intention to kill.
