India after a year with Modi as Indian prime minister
The damage done to the country over the decades due to corruption, misgovernance, mismanagement, caste and religion based electoral campaigns and Govt. programs (including the caste based quotas / reservations in education and jobs and the use of archaic religious / communal laws for different communities) under the previous regimes can't be reversed easily and quickly in just one year by the new Govt.
Moreover, the winning party (the BJP, forming the new Govt. under Modi) had officially also for the first time declared the name of its prime ministerial candidate (the potential prime minister -- Modi) before the parliamentary elections, which certainly is a huge plus for the parliamentary democratic process in India and, hopefully, it will become the norm in future parliamentary elections also in India (i.e. declaring the names of prime ministerial candidates by the political parties officially before the elections).

Are you trying to impress people here with what the Economist news / article has to say now about Modi's first year as Indian P.M., like what the Economist and other western newspapers said / wrote as news and articles more than a decade ago on the "real" existence of Sadam Hussain's WMD's in Iraq?
