Hyderabad....
Spent a month in India (mostly in Hyderabad) and just returned.
Hyderabad looks busy, the roads are congested and youngsters look optimistic about the future. Real estate prices are picking up. Went to eat at an Andhra restaurant (Chutney's) in InOrbit mall (in HighTech city). Interestingly, the guys serving food didn't speak Telugu! Auto fellows don't follow the meter rates. They try and squeeze as much money out of you as they can. The roads are not in great shape. Apparently, the KCR govt is giving money to TRS fellows to fix potholes, etc., and the money is being pocketed. There are TRS posters everywhere wishing KCR, his son and daughter well. His son celebrated his birthday recently and the whole city has banners wishing him long life. The fellows who put those banners declared their names on them. Apparently, KCR's family rewards such people. The average auto fellow is happy that Telangana is created and "Andhra cheaters" are taught a lesson. When asked what the Andhra fellows did, the response is rather candid - the common Andhra fellow is not bad but the politicians did bad things to Telangana....
Visited my native village in Guntur dist (in AP). The average worker is making more money than before (agriculture laborers make 400 rupees per day; construction workers 500 and electricians, plumbers, etc., more....). The nearby town has catering services and many families in the village are not cooking food at home as both men and women are working. Ate the food made by a catering company. It was pretty good. The village has cement roads, gets water and electricity 24/7 and the old huts are being replaced by concrete buildings. Overall, the place and people look prosperous. Many farmers have their kids working as code-coolies in the US! The local library, however, looks neglected.

(a): I wonder! They have more money in their hands now. So, they must be spending some on unnecessary things.
(b): Their "Sanskrit" during conflicts seems to have improved. Didn't see a real "fight" wishing each other "everything" on earth. So, the video footage won't be that interesting.
