i can't believe it's nearly a year since he passed away. i often turn to his music, more so than ever when i want to escape from everyday annoyances.

here is a lovely charukesi by srinivas. what an irreplaceable loss! i mourn his death just as keenly today as on the day we heard of his passing.

as you all know, i listen to a lot of music, particularly ICM, and i like a lot of muscians. but music that moves me and shakes me to my very foundations is rare. i can count on one hand these musicians - m.s.subbulakshmi, mallikarjun mansur, nikhil banerjee, and mandolin srinivas. so far, that's about it.
