s.rajam, the older brother of the late carnatic veena maestro s.balachandar was a vocalist and musicologist. but he was also a multifaceted person who dabbled in paintings of hindu iconography. he was a friend of our family and we have a few originals by him.  here is a painting of shakti/kali by s.rajam:

my understanding is that the painting above is not of Kali, but of Parvati. When Parvati becomes enraged or angry that's when she becomes Kali. She is looking very calm and serene in this painting which implies that she is in her manifestation of Parvati.
