T. P. Vedachalam of the  Justice Party founded Tamil Nation  Liberation Association (Tamil Desa Viduthalai Sangam) in Thiruchirapalli (Thiruchi, Trichi) in August 1938....

In July 1975 DMK Minister Rajaram asked the US Consul "Would the United States give assistance to us if Tamil Nadu decided to become independent?" The answer was "no" ...
