Any of U with Old Parents?
The post is dedicated to an old parent in India:
Life is a cycle. Birth happens when parents decide. But once born, death is certain. At least of the body. From birth to death, a life gets entangled with many others - parents, spouse, kids, grand kids, friends, colleagues.
A lot of people that this life has touched. Befriended, made relationships with.
And then it leaves.
Life is never immortal by nature. We all know that it will leave. It has left our great great grand parents, our great grand parents, our grand-parents, now the difficult phase with our parents, and one day even we will leave, as well.
One day, our kids will leave as well.
I dedicate my thoughts as I write this thinking about XYZ's dad, as I played Lawn tennis with him at M Apartments in 1990s in USA, as I ate food with him, drove with him many times. Yellowstone National Park, To/Fro Airport, Around town.
He is no more, having left us this month.
But he still survives in my heart, and in many more.
With humility to life and death, I bow to you Sir as I remember U...
TS.
PS: Makes me wonder about my own parents in India...

yeah, there is no substitute for 'willful suspension of disbelief' - guarantees bliss/peace, oh yeah!

Meghna - U see your parents from your own eyes, your viewpoint. They give you a scare. I am just learning to see it from their viewpoint. Just beginning to learn, putting myself in their shoes....

Re: Any of U with Old Parents?
Hmm. I posted this in Feb. Strange. For my mom got diagnosed with blood cancer in March, and passed away in April during treatment. A perfectly healthy woman teaching Yoga to many, and gone. Just like that. As I re-read my own post, I could not help what I was thinking in Feb, and how life turned out in April. There are some coincidences that are hard to ignore as logical coincidences. I am confused with such coincidences that I have experienced in recent past. Very strange. Very illogical, yet true. Too personal to share, but it has shaken my understanding of Truth.

Hi TS,
Sorry to hear about your mother's sickness and her passing away in April. May the departed soul rest in peace, and my condolences to the bereaved family. Sometimes we simply don't know our destiny and the will of Almighty.

My mom also passed away around the same time yours did so I can relate to the sadness and the terrible sense of loss you must feel. Life will never be the same, my friend, yet life goes on.TruthSeeker wrote:Hmm. I posted this in Feb. Strange. Oh wow..the coincidences..
I was just responding to a Sulekha friend..who had posted in Facebook on her birthday, who had also lost her mother recently with sadness about missing her terribly. Going through the same, I too missed my mother's voice and felt the void, and how life will never be the same again..
Thought about you all, came by on this day...strange coincidence indeed..
Sorry to hear about your loss Mr. TS..condolences to you.
Condolences to you GC..
Take care friends, love to you all.

I don't completely abandon places I have been too:)
*Today was a real coincidence.
Do come by from time to time..nice to see you too HA!
News is depressing..trying not to get too depressed about most things, and not much interest in commenting..
May be in Oct, when you beat up on Hillary, will defend her !

It's an irrecoverable loss as there is never, truly a substitute. It's so difficult, perhaps impossible to erase/unlearn this one as she is the core hub of long connections to most of our experiences, particularly the good ones, that we can remember. My heartfelt condolences.

Bangalore doesn't feel the same without her. Yes, the loss is irrecoverable and inconsolable. Thanks for the kind words.garam_kuta wrote:GC: it just hit me, the departure of your mother. maan, the brevity of life always stultifies me, every time.goodcitizn wrote:Thanks, Seva.Seva Lamberdar wrote:Sorry about your mom passing away too, GC.
