My God, a whole moment of happiness (or epiphany)! Is that too little for the whole of a man's life? -- Dostoevsky

Yup, too little. My goal is a li'l higher. I want continous, uninterrupted happiness: an everlasting bliss. Is that too much to ask for?

And then there was that one moment when you held me
And then there is the rest of this, the lifetime...

And that is the reason my friend, why most people are unhappy.

Most ppl are unhappy coz they don't live in the moment and have happiness as their goal, something that needs to be pursued. I was just joking, trace Smile

Sorry I got called away in the middle of chatting about this. If you want to go for the big one, Karamazov Brothers is his best work. Also try The Idiot and Poor People. Actually start with Poor People -- a different take on a love story.

i've read the idiot but strangely i do not remember anything of it. i'll start with poor people.

in white nights, his prose was very existential and you say it characterizes all his prose. i suppose he was the first existential writer.
