You were not present during the early days of Sulekha. I was. (Two other posters who were also present during the early days of Sulekha were Brie and Kris.) At that time there were no advertisements on the Sulekha forum pages, and no restriction on the length of the titles of any posts. One of the popular posters at the time, subash, used to compose posts which would frequently have very long titles.

Like subash i see nothing wrong in using long titles for certain posts. This is a matter of aesthetic taste and preference i think.

There is only one reason you do this. The posts you make these days get very few views. It's not an aesthetic preference, but an underhanded tactic and a silly one at that.

Posts on politics will naturally get few views. After all not many people are interested in politics. But i notice my post 'Aunty's Lovers' has 119 views even though it has only one reply (by Merlot). That's quite a lot of views.
