wow, this is a nice article, it made my skin tingle.

i almost never watch sports (even swimming and tennis - i only watch instructional videos or if i want to check out form - like underwater camera clips of the swimmers) and i never keep count. so i don't feel sad or bad about india's abject failure in the sports arena. a medal is just a singular accomplishment, and usually the medalist walks way with endorsements or goes on to a secure middle class life.

but as this gentleman points out india's performance in the olympics is a reflection of india's social values or lack thereof. i needed to read that, thanks.
