Lawyers took out a mock funeral of Andhra Judges who gave their option to be appointed in the Telangana courts and burnt their effigy in front of the District Court Complex, here on Wednesday.

The lawyers’ strike demanding the Andhra judges to quit and also the bifurcation of the High Court of Judicature in Hyderabad, meanwhile, entered the 17th day. They have been agitating on the twin demands in different modes since June 5.

Speaking on the occasion, the Bar Association president B. Rama Rao said that if the Andhra judges were allowed to be appointed and continued in the posts it would cause an enormous loss to the Telangana lawyers, he said. Bar Association vice-president, Asha Narayana also spoke.
