What is so gut-punching? Trump isn't against muslim citizens or legal immigrants who conform to the american society. They ARE americans. It's the democrats who fanned the islamophobic mania and playing with the insecurities of the muslims.
Trump talked about thorough vetting of the Syrian refugees (against Obamas, "we can't expect the refugees to have passports and documents. The jewish refugees didn't have them either during the time of holocaust"? which implies, thorough vetting is not possible) and/or stop taking the refugees/muslims until things settle down a bit in those troubled areas (why can't anyone pick up the courage to ask the other affluent arab nations to take the refugees?).

Ya...well said, Kinny. He may be a father, but hey, he's a Muslim. Those tears must be all drama paid for by Clinton's spin doctors.
Citizenry, unfortunately, gives those people all kinds of rights and protections. That is why Trump is not against Muslim citizens - he's just against Muslims in general. He's very right in insisting on a ban (or "extreme vetting" for the politically correct) so future Humayun Khans can be prevented.
