Haha..the last ten seconds summed it up. And the real joke is that half the country (represented here by clever Kinny) actually thinks there is a moral equivalence between the two!

Yeah, if one doesn't downplay the misdeeds of the Clintons, it'll be a longer and more outrageous list than Trump's.Merlot Daruwala wrote:Haha..the last ten seconds summed it up. I never knew sexually assaulting women, abusing EVERYONE, looking down on US Generals and US intelligence wasn't outrageous.
What are Republicans smoking in Atlanta?
I was in Atlanta last month and visited some folks in Buckhead. Those really rich whites and blacks had the opinion similar to Trumps. Yes, rich blacks too live in Buckhead. When one has a lot of money, they cannot see anyone outside their influence. Much like Donald Trump for who nobody matters.

What are Clinton's misdeeds? Using a private server, letting her family run a charitable foundation that used 90% of its funds to help people, and trying to win an election. What else?
Trump's misdeeds -- I am only listing the BIGGEST ones:
1. Bragging about sexual assault
2. Accusations of sexually assaulting at least 12 different women (at least two of them came forward well before the Access Hollywood tape came out)
3. Double-dipping on tax deductions
4. Illegal racial discrimination against black people in his housing rentals business
5. Refusing to release his income tax returns -- something all candidates have done for 40 years, something he promised to do 2 years ago and then in January this year
6. Refusing to accept election results
7. Refusing to acknowledge Russia's hacking of Americans and illegal discussions with Russia (look up Carter Page, Paul Manafort)
8. Illegal self-dealing with Trump Foundation funds -- including buying a painting of himself that hangs at one of his hotels
Each of these is bigger and worse than the Clinton emails nonstory. If ANY of these was true about Obama or Bush, they would have lost their elections.
Clinton is economical with the truth. She carefully says things so that she can claim that she was truthful while holding back anything damaging. Trump flat out lies. Per Politifact, about 27% of Clinton's claims are false. Bernie Sanders: 28%. Trump: over 70%. In starker words, Clinton likes about a quarter of the time. Trump lies three times as often as he tells the truth.

Re: A Closer Look
Barbara Corcoran said something that most media channels should have paid attention to. A woman who manages her family as well as Hillary against all odds deserves a lot of credit. She has already shown how she will run the country as the president.Idéfix wrote:This is truly nonsensical.Kinnera wrote:Yeah, if one doesn't downplay the misdeeds of the Clintons, it'll be a longer and more outrageous list than Trump's.Merlot Daruwala wrote:Haha..the last ten seconds summed it up. This election is going to test this phrase and if what you teach kids still works in 2016.

Re: A Closer Look
I wish there was joy in just thinking about how historic electing the first woman President would be. Instead it is a joyless time filled with uncertainty and anxiety..have never seen anything like this..appalling at times.
From the FBI jumping into the mix to illegal hacking info being accepted as the norm in American politics.
In the end, turnout on election day matters..and destiny (!) matters.
I just hope it is kind to Hillary..a brave woman who tried to keep it together, tried her best to keep her family together..enduring so much fire (unprecedented hate which is so undeserving) to get this far..just by doing that..she has made history.

Some normal sounding thick headed skulls are spun around by FOXNews red state nonsense, despite knowing Trump and little to no case against Hillary.
What scares me is that people in this supposedly educated country are looking no better than uneducated folks some love to blame in India.
If Trump wins on Tuesday, I promise to use presidential language to women here who directly or indirectly supported Trump.
Believe me, I will and I DO NOT EXPECT those women to feel offended.

Hi Maria, good to see you here. Hope you are doing well!
I am sure there will be rejoicing on Tuesday night. I remember the last few days before election day in 2008, worrying about Bradley effect and what not. Electing the first woman president was always going to be an uphill battle. But I do think she will win.

Re: A Closer Look
market is telegraphing a trump win with 9 out of 10 days being down. I dont buy the efficient market hypothesis but on the whole it's a pretty good handicapper. my instincts say sell everything (already in 50% cash) coz we're fucked if the orangutan wins but also afraid of missing snapback rally if hidimbi wins..staying put as a result. indians made the right choice last election, maybe majority of americans have the sense to do the same.
between law suits and govt agencies looking closer at his interests am sure a world of hurt is waiting for trump if he loses...hidimbi and her proxies will be grabbing him by the pussy and making him squeal like a fat little pig that he is. I predict this fucker's gonna rue the day he ever decided to run for president.

Re: A Closer Look
Prop,
Market is worried it baked in a hIllary victory for a long while and the last days are an effort to adjust for the possibility of a Trump victory. Markets are worried with the recent memory of Brexit vote. Market is worried but I am not sure if the market is predicting Trump victory.
Your strategy of 50% cash for Hillary victory rally is a smart move.

Hello Carvaka,
I am doing well (except for a little election anxiety!), thanks for asking. Hope you are doing well too.
Will certainly rejoice if this awesome lady-trailblazer becomes our first woman President!
Nice to see old friends around.

Re: A Closer Look
Good Morning,
Will state the obvious, I am disappointed and disheartened and there was no rejoicing last night. It was hard to watch the election results come in. Failures have many reasons and plenty of blame to go around. Destiny was not kind to Hillary. I will always admire her for her fighting spirit, and appreciate all her efforts.
As bombastic as Trump is, there is no choice but to hope that the weight of the office makes him more sober and use self-restraint. As someone said this morning ..hope his bluster was more about bluffing!
And he understands that this is a truly divided country, and he has the enormous power to reassure-show people who are nervous that it will be alright, and govern with good judgement (start by having wise advisers around him).
Only time will tell..

Re: A Closer Look
hello maria, long time.
lesson to democratic party: send someone less secretive, with fewer skeletons in the closet and actually inspiring & likable next time. personally I believe she lost the election because of the underhanded shit they did with sanders in collusion with media....wikileaks truly lifted the skirts to american ppl and they didnt like the hairy, smelly bush of establishment-media collusion that they saw underneath where she subverted sanders and the popular movement of young voters in the primary. end of the day, jobs and security mean much more to ppl than some stupid optics and quota crap.
PS: also don't send a woman to do a man's job. good ole us of a is not ready for that yet.

Re: A Closer Look
Nice to see too, DUT.
It is an extraordinary accomplishment to come this far..I don't think any woman except for Hillary could win the popular vote (last time I checked, she was ahead).
Hillary is such an unique person..having seen how terrific she was (and the diversity in her voters-coalitions), think it will be much harder for women now to measure up to her capabilities and skills, and rise to this high level of presidential politics. The same can be said for Pres. Obama.
Sadly, I don't think I will see a woman President or another Black/minority President in the USA in my lifetime. It may take decades. A woman VP is possible.
*I do hope that I am wrong.
