team for SCG (cricket)
how about dropping Sehwag down the order in Kohli's place and bringing Rahane to open with Gambhir?
sehwag isn't doing all that great as an opener. rahane has opened in ODIs and he is a much better test player than an ODI player. moreover, he has done well in the emerging players tournament in AUS a few months ago.
sehwag at #6 will not be a bad idea. he is the most selfish player in world cricket in that he plays for his own pleasure by hitting the ball when it is to be hit regardless of the match situation. it works. no complaints. so, why does it matter to him if he is allowed to hit those balls at #1 or #6? it might strengthen the lower middle and surprise AUS. psychological effect of "sehwag is yet to come" will only benefit. i think that the risks of him opening outweigh the benefits. so, why not #6? why not let him clobber tired bowlers?

Re: team for SCG (cricket)
Sehwag always expressed his desire to bat lower down the order.
Rahane did not push his case by failing ODIs vs WI and in early matches in Australia. Even then he may be a better choice than Kohli. Rohit could also be given a chance since he did no wrong in ODIs vs WI. It is difficult to say why rohit would do any better than Kohli.
Sydney curator is saying wicket will favor speed merchants initially. Who ever score big and secures a lead in first innings could have the upper hand. Ashwin could play a role in this test if Indian batsmen keep it even till 4th day.

2-0, 2-0, 2-0, 2-0
3-0. 3-0. 3-0
And then
4-0
Then: So many people out of form we could not win, Aus did pretty well without their regulars (Idiot, Aus currently has all regulars), our bowlers did well (huh?) batters have to improve, we thought we could win after 1st test, but that did not happen (Which we already knew), On to ODI series now, hope $kar gets his 100ths (And RETIRES, he is keeping so many young men out of the team. !@#$ so on and so forth.

agree with all your suggestions, but a bit confused. rahane is a better test player? he hasn't yet debuted! but yes drop kohli, push sehwag down the order, and blood rahane. also ashwin should exchange positions with dhoni in the batting order.

Re: team for SCG (cricket)
i meant that Rahane is supposed to be a TEST player rather than an ODI player based on his batting style and ranaji exploits. he should have made his test debut before his ODI debut.
