For every story of horrible increases in premium there is one like this. For those who immediately cite premium increases as a failure of Obamacare, premiums have been going up for 25 years. How much of it is part of this trend and how much is ascribable to Obamacare alone?

you are right, professore. YoY premium increases of 50 to 80% even 125% were very common before the obamacare came into existence.MaxEntropy_Man wrote:For every story of horrible increases in premium there is one like this. You cite the worst premium increases and hold it up as a failure of the ACA. This is utterly dishonest. The average increase has been 22%. Obamacare or not, premiums have been going up. Yes there are people for whom things have gotten much worse, but there are many more whose life has gotten better. Many who would never have gotten coverage due to PE conditions who have. If the democrats were more honest they would've said a 3.6% increase in income tax would have funded it fully. But they didn't and hence the problems for people who fell in the donut hole.
Anyway, the GOP can do whatever they want. Wish they'd gut the whole fucking thing and give me a tax cut soon. I'd rather see these folks lose coverage and the money returned back to my paycheck. Let them gut every fucking social program. I'd love to see that scenario play out for a short while till people come back to their senses.

And nobody can help people caught in states with idiot GOP governors who won't expand Medicaid.
