Reality Now - Anti-AFSPA crusader Irom Chanu Sharmila decided to quit politics after a big defeat in Manipur Assembly Election Results 2017. Sharmila lost the Thoubal assembly seat, a district where Singh has lost only once since 2002.Launching a mission statement before the Manipur Assembly elections, the Iron Lady aspired to build a “self-reliant economy for Manipur” taking up various causes such as corruption and also took up the role of a whistleblower.
