quitting chat

all it takes is an anonymous handle for a good soul to turn evil -- R2D2

i was subjected to some unsavoury comments by a lurker handle today. a regular lurker at that by the way (lurkers come in different species these days). though i am not easily ruffled by nasty comments directed at me, i am a bit unsettled by this incident. clearly there is one lurker in my day time chat who comes in various different handles. i cannot stand flank attacks by anon. handles (it amounts to a mind game).i chat a few hours every morning for joy and if a lurker is going to deprive me that happiness, i will not come to chat. i know there is the "ignore" button but to hell with you psycho lurker.

LOL. maybe i overreacted. but i think i'm changing my mind 'cos one doubt (however small it was) has been cleared:

i edited my above post for earlier it carried a reference to blabberwock. i subsequently got a note from her and she suggested i try asking the admin to run the IPs of the lurkers to check if they matched with hers. now that is not at all necessary for her alacrity speaks for itself; not that the admin would have obliged in any case. so i'll come to chat and continue ignoring anon. handles (and not be dragged into their mind games).

yes. the handle in question has been lurking for a couple of weeks and started chatting since yesterday. it may not be a lurker anymore (but may go back to lurking) but the fact remains that it is an anon. identity. the handle name is sneak view. btw, the handle refers to itself as "a lurker."

lurker handles? as such, when i ask the lurkers to be my friend, they log out hurriedly.
