Mantri Road Metro station becomes ‘Hindi-free’ zone
Well done Bengaluru! Hindians' argument that migrants from Hindia will find it difficult is lame because
1. Most Hindian day laborers(daily laborers in most of the country infact) are illiterate.
2. There are plenty of non Hindian daily laborers in Hindian states and similar courtesy is not extended to them.
Bengaluru: Close on the heels of announcements and digital displays in Hindi disappearing on Namma Metro in the face of protests by Kannada activists, the language has also vanished from the Mantri Square-Sampige Road Metro station's name board. The station's name is now written only in Kannada and English and not Hindi.
Meanwhile, some believe that the absence of Hindi on Namma Metro could make life difficult for the poor, who have migrated to the city from northern states in search of work.

"They" come here to make a living in our midst. It is up to them to learn our language to get by. Not our duty to use their language.
What about illiterate Kannadigas working in Delhi? Where is Kannada in Delhi Metro?
By the way Hindi removal is temporary. Will come back in a year when things quiet down

They should either have signs in 5-6 major Indian languages or only English and the local language. No more Hindian signs where they don't belong.
