We will be traveling to India next mo. Will be traveling to Hyderabad for a few days. Looks like process of booking is cumbersome. I'm Indian citizen and my husband is not. I have no presence in India(No PAN, Adhar or Bank account). How does this work?

Follow these steps

1. Call an agent in India
2. Provide source, destinations for train travel
3. Provide preferred dates and times of travel
4. Give names of travelers, their age
5. Give class, seats preferences
6. Give your address, local address
7. Write a check or give credit card

Hmm.. actually it is pretty simple.

Do you have any relative with a mobile phone in India?. You can book online via www.irctc.co.in .

Ask them to book on your behalf. You must be having at least one Indian govt. issued ID rite, like PIO or OCI or passport. That would be sufficient.

In fact, I logged into check , and there is an option for foreign tourist booking. Check it out. Looks like you can book from there itself.

I don't know anything about that but to reiterate my advice on another thread regarding apple cider vinegar - I gave the same advice to a co-worker for her India trip. She hates the strong smell of vinegar so she took capsules(NOW foods ACV 500 mg) instead and it was a tremendous help. She took them every other day during her trip and didn't fall sick even once. I suggest you take a bottle with you when you go.
