Shithole Countries: Did anyone answer the actual question?

So much commentary in print, online, on TV. But did anyone manage to remotely answer the actual question asked:
So, what is the answer to that question? Why are some American politicians prioritizing these countries - Haiti, El Salvador, other African countries? Honest question.
Just to give a background, Trump asked this question when a group of Senators from both Democrat and Republican parties reached a deal in which they scrapped the Diversity Lottery green card category, and allocated those green card numbers specifically to countries such as Haiti, El Salvador and other Asian countries. You read that right - they did not agree to allocate those green cards to highly skilled or highly educated people nor to investors or entrepreneurs nor even to Indians stuck in decades long green card queues. But specifically to people from very backward countries. Out of all the different groups and categories in the world, why did they feel the need to choose these countries only? Why are some American politicians so keen on this? What is their compulsion?

Why do so many Polish people flock to the UK? Is it because Poland is a shithole country and they can't make a living there?

Newsflash! The subject of this thread is not the word "shithole". The subject of this thread is: Why are some American politicians prioritizing these countries - Haiti, El Salvador, other African countries?

The average El Salvadoran immigrant may be three times more likely as the average Norwegian immigrant or four times more likely than the average Indian immigrant to be on welfare, supported by the U.S. taxpayer.
So, why should immigration from El Salvadore, Haiti and African countries be prioritized? Of course, no one will answer that question.

Let's for a moment assume (unverified because I don't trust articles from conservative websites) that your spiel about El Salvadorans and Haitians is true. But what do they have to do with terrorism?
