President Trump deserves Americans' gratitude
He prevented the career criminal Hitlary from becoming President. Sure, he has his flaws but he is way better than Hitlary. I still don't regret not voting for her despite being a registered democrat.

As if we needed any more evidence that the FBI was politicized under James Comey, we get this in a Friday evening document dump: The top attorney for the FBI and an attorney representing Hillary Clinton loyalists worked together to keep politically-damaging computer contents from being subject to Freedom of Information Act requests.
Beth Wilkinson, wife of former NBC host and current CNN commentator David Gregory, represented Clinton aides Cheryl Mills, Heather Samuelson, and Jake Sullivan during the FBI’s investigation of Mrs. Clinton’s secret email server, and Ms. Wilkinson apparently convinced an all-too-cooperative FBI to protect the contents of Ms. Mills’s and Ms. Samuelson’s laptop computers from public scrutiny.
“The Government explicitly agreed that the FBI would not assert custody and control of the devices in the face of Freedom of Information Act requests,” Ms. Wilkinson wrote in an August 11, 2016 email from Ms. Wilkinson to James A. Baker, who was then the general counsel of the FBI. Here’s an excerpt from the agreement that Ms. Wilkinson cut-and-pasted into her email.
The Device is being provided to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (“FBI”) solely for the purposes of the Department of Justice Investigation, and for the Department’s use in connection with the investigation. In voluntarily providing the Device, Cheryl Mills does not relinquish ownership or control over the Device, except for the FBI’s limited investigative use as specified by this agreement. The FBI does not assert custody and control over the Device or its contents for any other purposes, including any requests made pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, 5 U.S.C. § 552.

It is interesting to note how far you will go in supporting this despicable person... supporting a pedophile for senate and paying hush money to a pornstar with whom he had an affair months after his third wife didn't seem like flaws to you.

It is hard for snow flakes and rice flakes to understand 2-3 things:
1. People can support something or someone purely based on principles without getting any like-backs in return for the support.
2. It is possible for people to live without being liked back by everyone.
3. Trump and most of his supporters are not any more or any less racist than Hillary or her supporters.

Re: President Trump deserves Americans' gratitude
I have no quarrel with your first two points. But this one is just false. Paul Ryan, no supporter of Hillary Clinton nor opponent of Trump, said one of Trump's statements was sort of like "the textbook definition" of a racist statement. He called for more immigrants from countries like Norway and fewer from African countries and Haiti; that is another textbook definition of racism. When you judge -- and advocate policies for the government to judge -- people based on their race or national origin, that is the very definition of racism. It is possible that you do not see this because you are a racist yourself.SomeProfile wrote:3. Trump and most of his supporters are not any more or any less racist than Hillary or her supporters.

Today I learned two things:
- The ONLY difference between Haiti and Norway is the color of the skin of the respective citizens.
- When someone says they prefer immigration from countries like Norway and not from countries like Haiti, the ONLY thing they could mean is they want immigration from white countries and not from black countries because of # 1 above. They absolutely cannot mean that they prefer immigration from developed countries with better skilled citizens than from under developed countries with under skilled citizens.
Oh, here's a bonus learning:
- When I support Diversity Visa lottery and oppose the guy who is saying that Diversity Visa lottery should be scrapped in favor of merit-based immigration, I am not being racist at all, because the Diversity Visa totally does not consider race and nationality as the primary criteria!
Liberalism truly is a mental illness!

Re: President Trump deserves Americans' gratitude
The problem is with using national origin to decide what to do with individual people. That is what makes it racist. There are educated people in Haiti, and uneducated people in Norway. If the goal of the policy is to bring in more educated people, that is what should be stated; not that you want more Norwegians and fewer Haitians.SomeProfile wrote:Idéfix wrote:I have no quarrel with your first two points. Scrapping the diversity visa lottery is not racist. Making an argument to scrap it using "I want more Norwegians and fewer Haitians" as the logic is definitely racist.SomeProfile wrote:Oh, here's a bonus learning:

Your contention was that Trump is no more racist than Hillary. That is just plain false. His own party's House Speaker called his words "the textbook definition" of racism. That would be like Pelosi calling something Hillary said "the textbook definition" of racism.
Racism is a lot more like a mental illness than liberalism is, but people suffering from it rarely know that they are suffering from it.SomeProfile wrote:Liberalism truly is a mental illness!

Even as the wrist slitting and sulking by illiberals continues, more good news is pouring in.
UPS today announced more than $12 billion in investments to expand the company's Smart Logistics Network, significantly increase pension funding, and position the company to further enhance shareowner value. "This $12 billion investment program is an outgrowth of the opportunity for tax savings created by the Tax and Jobs Act," said David Abney, UPS Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "We will increase network investments and accelerate pension funding to strengthen the company for the long term, so that we maximize the benefit to our global customers, employees and shareowners."
