Re: Goodbye Ron!
I hope "Ron" will feel free and untethered to speak his mind (assuming he still has one) now.

Re: Goodbye Ron!
"Ron" has presided over the biggest expansion of the budget deficit under a Republican speaker, and the biggest expansion of the deficit ever while the economy is growing.
Great legacy for a guy who used to care about fiscal responsibility.
Speaker | Party affiliation | Start date | Deficit at start ($bn) | End date | Deficit at end ($bn) | Change in deficit ($bn) |
Tom Foley | Democratic | 6/6/1989 | 153 | 1/3/1995 | 164 | 11 |
Newt Gingrich | Republican | 1/3/1995 | 164 | 1/3/1999 | -126 | -290 |
Dennis Hastert | Republican | 1/3/1999 | -126 | 1/3/2007 | 161 | 287 |
Nancy Pelosi | Democratic | 1/3/2007 | 161 | 1/3/2011 | 1,300 | 1,139 |
John Boehner | Republican | 1/3/2011 | 1,300 | 10/29/2015 | 438 | -862 |
Paul Ryan | Republican | 10/29/2015 | 438 | 1/3/2019 (expected) | 984 | 546 |
Great legacy for a guy who used to care about fiscal responsibility.

Re: Goodbye Ron!
I guess something is fishy. He is relatively young and it is rare for a politician at this age to leave. Either he is afraid of something where he may be dragged into or already in and want to avoid getting into the mess.
