i am so glad my parents didn't raise me with this bullshit... yes, too much greed will kill anyone. But look at the flip side of this statement. if you are repressing the growth of your own daughter, and if you are letting her out in the world, getting her married (in case of indian arranged marriages), to a husband who could totally exploit her for not being independent, then you are wishing her a lifetime of grief. Let her grow to be as independent financially as you are raising your son, so that she takes bullshit from no one, not even her husband or in-laws. So many women stick it out in a bad marriage, just coz they simply cannot sustain themselves alone. How can you set your own little princess up to suffer that way. How long will you live to protect her. Atleast my dad didn't think like that, and thank god!

Hi FH,

Sometimes I honestly believe that we Indians live in some la-la land, while reality on the ground is completely different.

Hot in the Indian news, is the starvation, drugged, raped and murdered by police officers of an 8 year old Muslim girl in J&K in Kathua; and another minor's rape who actually survived to tell the police that her rapist was an MLA, and police refused to file an FIR. Instead picked her father into custody, and he died after MLA's brother beat him to death.

Believable?

Not to me.

In reality, our society has turned into "animals" against "women".

What success? 

We have to introspect, as a "whole", as a society. Not by some minority "middle-class spiritual" value glasses.

Shameful.

Ashamed.
