My Valentine
Where are those days when you believed such songs. Sigh.
What if it rained?
We didn't care
She said that someday soon
The sun was gonna shine
And she was right
This love of mine,
My Valentine
As days and nights
would pass me by
I tell myself that I was waiting for a sign
Then she appeared,
A love so fine,
My Valentine
And I will love her for life
And I will never let a day go by
Without remembering the reasons why
She makes me certain
That I can fly
And so I do,
Without a care
I know that someday soon the sun is gonna shine
And she'll be there
This love of mine
My Valentine
We didn't care
She said that someday soon
The sun was gonna shine
And she was right
This love of mine,
My Valentine
As days and nights
would pass me by
I tell myself that I was waiting for a sign
Then she appeared,
A love so fine,
My Valentine
And I will love her for life
And I will never let a day go by
Without remembering the reasons why
She makes me certain
That I can fly
And so I do,
Without a care
I know that someday soon the sun is gonna shine
And she'll be there
This love of mine

Re: My Valentine
I don't know about Tina Turner and other Angels...but, think feelings of love and lust are often merged without distinction:) But, if one can separate them..not sure, if it is that seductive or interesting, and whatever it is..it's greater than the sum of two!
Tracy,
I still believe in those songs! Have not had any reason not to- so far!

Re: My Valentine
nice video M. Reminds of the story of my brother's friend. He was from a city in UP near Delhi. Loved this girl where he was doing engineering. Loved her dearly. Their affair went on for 5-6 years, when finally they could get married. Think there were some reservations from her family, but they all finally agreed.
My brother was a good friend of both of them. He was very fond of her. She was very high spirited and energetic, in hindi, 'bindaas'. Brother used to tell us about them all the time. This was one of his fave recollections of their story. When they went for honeymoon, he bought some alcohol. She was a tee-totaller. Anyway, he left the room to get something, and by the time he came back, she had had 2 drinks, and was fully out, and then they drank more and in general painted the town red during their honeymoon.
About 3 months after marriage, he was in delhi at work and she was with in-laws. She hadn't moved in with him yet. One night some robbers went into their home, and killed all three of them. Apparently, they were in the in-laws room, and she ran in to help. They slit her throat cut. She died from loss of blood, as they lay their all night, and were found the next morning. I am a little fuzzy if someone survived, but I dont' think anyone did.
The friend was in shock for years. Took him about 6-7 years to be pursuaded into marrying again. He would remember her every day of his life. Just could not get out of it. I have seen him both before and after the incident. Hardly does a same man look so differnt within one life span.
Anyway, this song reminded me of that love story.

Re: My Valentine
Thanks TW.
How tragic..appreciate your narration..although it's a sad story.
Yes, the song does have a little melancholic aura to it..the ironies of love and life..people who want so much to be together only get a few years..

There are so many angel songs I really love..perhaps this one is better for Saints and Angels! And being very human and imperfect..can certainly relate and appreciate all my Angels!
