nandri mudharkanam...
the theme of karnatic music as applied to film music is presented well with interesting anecdotes, and i thoroughly enjoyed watching the entire presentation.
But what really captivated and drew my attention was the narrative that is presented in a distinctive style enriched in select ethnic dialect that is barely in vogue, say in the last couple of decades or so, among thamizhars, living in metropolis. I loved the sophistication in the vocab, the choice of words, phrases that were at times so slick and cleverly used to express irony, sarcasm etc in the most civil and dignified way, that is almost extinct in the contemporary thamizh spoken in chennai, for example.
Basically it transported me to my childhood when i was just around watching and listening to the elders conversing, discussing and gossiping about everything under the sun.
love the grand, unparalleled ethnic diversity in India that makes life most colorful & vibrant, and I loathe and fear the impending homogenization of global culture.

Yes. You have nicely summed it up. I had no idea about humor club or this kind of presentation. I enjoyed his simple way of explaining/identifying raagas.
