A Heartbreaking Image. How A Farmer Collapsed And Died In His Field
A farmer in Andhra Pradesh collapsed and died in his field on Tuesday (Dec. 18, 2018), shocked at the devastation of his paddy crop by cyclone Phethai, which swept through the state on Monday.
"In a heart-wrenching image, Gottipally Chinnarao's body is seen in his flooded field, surrounded by a group of farmers.
"The 69-year-old paddy farmer from Srikakulam district died of a heart attack, doctors say. He had gone to the field to break the bunds, tackle waterlogging and save his rotting ready-to-sell harvest, but could not bear the shock when he saw the damaged paddy.
"The farmer has three sons and a daughter."My father suffered losses in the earlier cyclone too. The harvest was bundled and ready but got completely wet. He tried to save the crop but collapsed and died," said his son Kameswar..... "

>>> Notwithstanding the unfortunate death of 69 year old farmer in his agricultural field suddenly on Tuesday at the sight of devastated paddy, why weren't the grown up children (especially his three sons) tending to and taking responsibility for the fields, rather than have the old man do it by himself (perhaps the children / sons might be away from home and farm on jobs elsewhere, including probably even the OBC category good jobs to the farming family members)?
