>>> After the Opposition failed to field a PM candidate jointly in parliamentary elections against BJP (the party entering the elections with official PM candidate Modi) and thus let the latter (BJP) do well in terms of getting votes from public (according to the exit polls), is this the last ditch effort by Opposition to delay the election outcome / results, by asking the EC for VVPAT count first?

Indians patiently waited 7 weeks, i don't think they will mind waiting another 5-6 days. I never expected such incompetence from EC, seriously, 7 weeks to conduct elections? This probably is the first time since the emergency all the opposition parties got together to rally against the ruling party. That in itself says a lot. BTW, I can't see how NDA will get 272 seats let alone 369. They might end up around 240-250 with existing NDA coalition.Seva Lamberdar wrote:https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/election-2019-all-5-vvpats-should-be-counted-first-22-opposition-parties-tell-election-commission-2040770?pfrom=home-livetv

It looks like the EC handled the issue wisely and decided to go ahead with the general count rather than acceding to the delaying gimmick by opposition parties.
