Covid-19: Many in hospital after gathering at Delhi’s Nizamuddin, area sealed

The Delhi Police on Monday (March 30) cordoned off a large part of Nizamuddin where several people have reportedly shown symptoms of coronavirus after taking part in a religious gathering last week.
Police said that last week, a religious gathering of around 200 people was organised in the area without its permission when prohibitory orders under CrPC section 144 was in force across the city.
Police said the gathering inside a mosque had many foreign nationals too.
Deputy commissioner of police (south east) RP Meena said, “The whole city is under lockdown. Now with some cases of people showing symptoms of Covid-19 reported from Nizamuddin area, we have posted more police personnel at the market places and the lanes to ensure that people follow the lockdown. Our officers on the ground are also helping the government officers in Nizamuddin basti area.”
The Nizamuddin basti area has a high population density. The Police began to take batches of people in buses to a hospital for tests.
Fifty three people have so far tested positive for coronavirus in Delhi. Two have died.

Trump extends shutdown to April 30 as social distancing begins to slow down death rate
WASHINGTON: Amid signs that social distancing measures are helping decelerate the death rate from coronavirus infection, the United States has extended its lockdown guidelines to April 30 after President Donald Trump on Sunday accepted expert projections that 100,000-200,000 people could die of coronavirus infection notwithstanding with such a shutdown.
Even holding the death count down to between 100,000, a “horrible number” as it is, would be better than the initial projection of 2.2 million deaths without such mitigation numbers. ........
