Rana Daggubati on Hindi
"This is a typical day for me. Any wonder I'm single?" he laughs. So what in a girl turns him on? He blushes and says he doesn't know how to answer such a question. Then, he says, "Someone who understands cinema and speaks well. And of course, she should know Tamil, Telugu and Hindi."
Surprisingly, even in his home state, Rana is recognized more for his Hindi debut DMD than for his earlier two Telugu films though both have been huge successes. "That's because there are vast pockets where people speak only Telugu and there are equally large ones where only Hindi is spoken."

"That's because there are vast pockets where people speak only Telugu and there are equally large ones where only Hindi is spoken."
That was a counter factual statement. There is only one vast pocket of people who spoke Hindi (actually Urdu). That is a part of Hyderabad. Rest of the state speaks including border areas. While there are a significant number of Hindi/Urdu speakers, they do not occupy any significant areas that can be labelled as exclusively Hindi speaking only.

Since Rashu found the statements from Rana whoever on the internets and copy pasted it, he automatically knows more than the folks who grew up in AP.

Rana is practical. He grew up in Chennai and have properties/homes in Chennai. So he wants the girl to know Tamil. He is a telugu, so wants the girl to know telugu. He lives in Hyderabad where knowing some Hindi/Urdu helps. So wants the girl to know Hindi too.
The statement in bold is wrong. It's prollay written by a nut job like you. Rana is known for his 1st super hit movie, Leader. His second movie, nenu naa raakshasi, was a total flop. And what is his hindi movie again. DMD? Heard that he was acting in one with bipasha as his herioine. Don't know if it's even released.
Anyway, as TBT said, there are no "equally large pockets" in AP where Hindi is spoken. It's spoken only in Hyderabad. Don't know if we can even call it Hindi. It's primarily Urdu or popularly known as Hyderabadi.

Thanks for the clarification TBT and Kinnera. i will just point out that spoken hindi and spoken urdu, in urban areas in India, are encompassed within the language known as Khari Boli or Hindustani.

ashdoc's review---
Goa in the 21st century.......
'' Kiristav , khata hai pav , karta hai myav '' , said noted marathi author-cum-politician Acharya Atre about Goa's christian community in the mid-twentieth century when Goa was still ruled by the Portuguese .
Well , in the twenty-first century the christain community in Goa is hooked onto something more than just pav---drugs......
Director Rohan Sippy brings back into limelight the scourge that Dev Anand had filmed about so famously in the 70s---paying his tribute by titling the movie by its most well-known song .
In place of the Portuguese are the neocolonialists---Russians , Israelis , French and Nigerians , who have neatly divided Goa into sectors where this most westernised part of India has become a haven for drugs , sex and dhokha---in reverse order.....
And behind all this ,in every drug deal , is the mysterious hand of someone called Michael Barbosa---an entity so enigmatic that hardly any one has seen him , and no one knows his true identity......
And tasked to identify and bring him to justice is ACP Vishnu Kamat ( played by Abhishek Bachchan ) whose passion for the task comes from the death of his family due to drugs , and the blessings for whose task comes from a politician with one foot in the grave---thus both are people who have nothing to lose......
....which is fitting.....
........For those who have something to lose keep clear of drugs , and above all from Michael Barbosa's long reach--as a young christain boy ( played by Prateik Babbar ) learns the hard way when he plays with both......
Yeah ,the battle against drugs is a long , hard one , with no satisfaction or security of life for those who fight against it---as one discovers when person after person who tries to bring the drug kingpins to justice is packed off to heaven ( presumably , for fighting against such a threat to society )........
For ACP Vishnu Kamat , grim satisfaction lies in the fact that after he dies , he will remain in Goa---for he thinks that the only heaven in this universe is Goa itself......
The movie chillingly brings out how difficult it is to bring an end to the scourge of drugs , and how hopeless is the fight , for the whole system is infected with the agents of the people who sell drugs .
The songs are good ,the dialogues pack a punch , and the movie gets better as it progresses .
Verdict--decent enough.....

Rana Daggubati shares why Hyderabadi Hindi is so close to his heart and how unlearning it for a film was so difficult for him
You could call my Hindi pakka Hyderabadi as I never studied Hindi in school. I've picked up the language from friends and acquaintances in the city, so it is a blend of Urdu, Hindi and Telugu. People might find the nakkos, kaikus and haus a little too Hyderabad. But if they make fun of my Hindi, I make fun of their's because for me, my Hindi is perfectly normal!

Times of India is worse than Yellow Journalism & only useful for wrapping stuff and for consuming dry bhel puri...
And RaNa is a fringe actor (albeit with a great pedigree) in both Telugu & Hindi movie industries - as of now...
