students who come from hindi medium schools typically face a tough time when attending engineering or medical colleges since the lectures in these institutes are in english. the obvious solution is to arrange for special english courses for these students (i think this is happening in at least some colleges--not sure about this one). The long term solution is that gradually an effort must be made to convert all schools into english medium schools. For this we need a lot of good english teachers.
