"penius" seetharamayya (aka propagandhi) was a pariah living on the fringes of sulekhan society. he was rehabilitated by carvaka for one and only one reason: tribal loyalty towards another telugu. there couldn't be any other reason; the social, political, and economic leanings of these two are diametrically opposite each other's. for example, carvaka is ostensibly a social liberal and a socialist who approves of keynsean government intervention. seetharamayya, on the other hand, doesn't know what he is, but portrays himself as a staunch capitalist when it's convenient to do so; most of all, he wants to be considered masculine, which he equates with having a foot-long "penius" (plural: "penii," pronounced peeni-eye), bringing new meaning to the belief that he's a pr*ck. if you read the posts in which propagandhi and carvaka interact, you'll see how indiscriminate the latter is in his support of his crass brother. rarely have i seen such parochialism.

>"he was rehabilitated by carvaka"

And FF has been oh-so-sore about it ever since.

>"rarely have i seen such parochialism."

Apparently someone needs a mirror.

PS: I am surprised at my power to rehabilitate fringe-living pariahs. I must be pretty powerful around here.

you are NOT credible anymore. you are here every day, indiscriminately supporting a vulgar, middle-aged creature who routinely refers to all women as c*nts, while you portray yourself as fair to everyone, including women. you give yourself away when you support people ONLY because they're TELUGUS.

in my opinion, a direct outcome of the cliquishness that Luke refers to is the reaction that is to be seen here:

notwithstanding the horrendous stereotypes in these jokes, this is totally contrary to our experience amongst indians here in new england. the telugus buy the biggest houses and drive the most expensive cars and are more ostentatious than any other group of indians save the punjabis.

exceptions do not make the rule. Moreover, when there are so many people complaining about Gult cliquishness, it is time for Gults to do a little introspection.

the most cliquish people i have seen in india are the northindian professors and scientists who inhabit iit madras, the indian institute of science at bengaluru, and the various CSIR and defense labs in southern indian cities. they do not speak the local language despite living in these cities for years on end and conduct their daily lives through their domestic servants, perpetually irritated that the thAAAmils do not speak hindi. and they hang out with their own kind. their wives are slightly better than them. this stands in sharp contrast to tamilians and telugus in delhi and other northindian cities.

the north indian professors and scientists can get by presumably because of the existence of the southern indian language Dakhini. Moreover, two wrongs don't make one right. When there are so many people complaining about Gult cliquishness then it is time for Gults to introspect.
