Madness of American Psycho-Shrinks Empty Madness of American Psycho-Shrinks

Here is evidence why Peesichiatrists have earned their nickname "Shrinks" (who are on par with Chiropractors - in my view):

But the DSM manual is bizarre and provides an explanation for the ‘disease mongering’ practised by the American shrink-industry and for the sinister habit of shoving medicine down children’s throats to make them behave. Modern updates of the DSM have dropped some of the most egregious insanities (famously, homosexuality was dropped from its list of mental disorders in 1974) but the new rewrite, DSM 5, is if anything ramping up the disease mongering. The DSM now lists no fewer than 347 mental illnesses. An excellent piece in this week’s New Scientist highlights the absurdity of classifying low mood, lack of energy and lack of self-esteem for two continuous weeks after bereavement as clinical depression. “This seems unhelpful, to say the least,” says Professor Nick Craddock, a psychiatrist at Cardiff University Medical School. Craddock forensically dissects the nonsenses of the DSM, and points out that in the latest edition a new ‘illness’, “Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder’ has been classified to describe ‘an onset of temper outbursts before the age of 10’. He points out that “We need much more firm evidence for the benefits of doing this before labelling children with such a diagnosis”. Does this matter? After all, the DSM is just a manual, and an American one at that. We are free to ignore it.

So like Accountants and politicians they seem to arbitrarily change their guidelines to benefit their own agendas.
