almost midnight thoughts Empty almost midnight thoughts

Post by Guest Thu Mar 15, 2012 11:00 pm

The last day is here. (I mean it is tomorrow, but I tend to feel things a bit prematurely (no pun intended).

Been waiting for it so long, that now that it's here, I feel numb. I was dreaming so much about what all I will do starting Monday. But now that it's looking at me in the face, I'm not sure if I will actually be able to do all that.

In last one month I have thought of so many things about next steps. Whether to stay on technical side, and relearn old or develop new skills. Or to start working/studying towards getting on the management track.

Or do something completely different from my career so far. A small business. Or something creative. Or something related to medical field even.

Now that I have got this chance, there are so many things I can *think* of doing. And I am giving myself roughly 4 months to think what I want and start working on getting it.

While I sadly realize that I will most likely be back to coding in Java by Fall, it's just nice to know that at this point in life for me...

The Possibilities are Endless.

No it wasn't that heroic on my part. We had layoffs back in Feb. Last day is tomorrow. No complains, as this comes with severance and possibly unemployment benefits.

I just like to throw a disclaimer once in a while. Gone through enough sentence twistings since high school. heh.

Tracy,

I don't know about others..but when the Sun comes up in the morning..my midnight thoughts (especially about uncertainties of life)..seem to diminish.

Stating the obvious..life is full of door closings and openings..we are always in transition..new challenges make it interesting.

good luck..whatever you decide to do!

Thanks M!

Woke up this morning feeling complete detachment with this job. Till yesterday I was fretting to finish up some stuff. Am in a do-not-care mode now, and already planning my evening. I do hope they let me get out early though.

Be optimistic! You are finally free to sit back and think things over. Spend a few days figuring out what path you wish to choose. Once you decide, then go for it and give it your all. If you work hard, you WILL succeed.

All the best! Smile

All the best.

Are you traveling during this free time?

Enjoy, Relax, Enjoy a mani/pedi, Hit the gym, disconnect the computer, it is a beautiful early spring day.

Yeah, I realize chances like this come rare. Won't let it go to waste.

Yeah, going to Boston/NH during kids' spring break. Will be meeting mausi after years, which is a shame considering she lives just 5 hours away.

Then some random travelling to Poconos, in April as well.

Feeling very tempted to go to India next week, for mom's surgery. Let's see. If not, tentatively planning to go there for a month in July-August. Want to cover all possible monsoon festivals for the kids, also dad's and my birthdays. Let's see.

Have other smaller road trips in mind. Will do them as and when time permits.

Only self mani-pedi from now on. Got to save money. Keeping gym membership for now, but will cancel it if I am not using it much in next one month.

Signed up kids for local sports evening midweek classes. Was impossible to do this before. Gonna become a soccer mom now. Heh.

Feeling tempted to get a dog too. To sorta complete the picture, you know. But gotta hold back the emotions. Ok. will breath deeply for 10 minutes till this last thought pases away.
