Chennai Imam leads funeral prayers for Osama

[i]CHENNAI: Stating that Osama Bin Laden was not an orphan and was one among the 170 crore Muslims, Chief Imam of the city-based Makkah Masjid on Friday conducted a 'janazah' prayer for Osama in which about 10,000 people participated.
Speaking to reporters after the funeral prayer, Moulana Shamsudeen Qasimi, Chief Imam of Makkah Masjid, said, "Without proving to the world that Osama bin Laden was really behind the twin-towers attack, the United States has killed him by portraying him as the world's most dreaded terrorist and buried him like an orphan."
"Osama was not an orphan and he was very much part of the 170 crore Muslim population living in the world, hence we organised a 'janazah' (funeral) prayer, as was the custom with every deceased Muslim," the Moulana added.
Had Osama been proved guilty and the government asked the public to punish him in the open on Mount Road, the first bullet to be fired on Osama should have been from a Muslim only, as Islam was against terrorism, he said. "We feel that US president Barack Obama orchestrated the drama at Abbottabad to improve his diminishing popularity among US citizens, since elections in the country are fast approaching," Qasimi said.
When asked whether any permission was sought from local authorities to conduct the prayer, Qasimi said, "We never sought permission for the event as it would be held indoors. Moreover, we don't see any hurdle on that front as this very state allowed several condolence meetings for the LTTE leader Velupillai Prabakaran, who was behind the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi."[/i]

This Imam just gave one more evidence to the statement that the entire Ummah is one when it comes terrorism, just that some are active "executors" for the passive rest who support, finance, plan, and applaud to varying degrees.
Unfortunately, Amma proved that one can win without the support of the Muslims.
Perhaps time for Amma to mobilize the country. With Modi, mamata, Uma Bharati, Amma can form a terrific quartet to throw out the iSlamic secularists from power.

A few years back, there was an exhibition from Francois Gautier in Chennai about the misdeeds of Aurangzeb, including the original Farhanama's where he gives orders to destroy temples and denigrate Hindus/Sikhs unless they convert to Hinduism.
Now a group of Muslims came and stopped that exhibition, saying it is untrue, and that it is against somebody whom they respect. They used the bogey of communal riots, even though it was they who were causing the trouble. They attacked a few old women, who were manning the exhibition. When a police complaint was lodged, the DMK government actually arrested the women !, instead of taking the attackers to task.
These imams are practising Political Islam and not confining themselves to religious affairs. It is high time, India polity makes a distinction between them, and put such folks on the spot and prosecute them for doing things against the constitution. A vast majority of the Indian muslims are not actively involved in Political Islam. But allowing such folks to corrupt them, can prove dangerous later.
With such Imams being allowed to operate with impunity, no wonder such attitudes are prevalent among common populace. Instead of assimilation with local language , these imams want Muslims to associate themselves with Wahabi Political Islam and racial superiority preached by Saudi's. It is a dangerous trend, that needs to be addressed by Indian polity and security planners.
