Marathi is an offshoot of Swahili, methinks. First make Swahili a classical language, then think about Marathi.

Aren't Marathi, Sanskrit, and Khariboli written with the same script?

Oh yeah, also, Marathi does not have its own script. Another proof that it is an offshoot of Swahili.
