Genghis Kahn would not be famous if his descendents in central asia didn't embrace iSlam. India would not be alive if Moghuls didn't invade. Tamil Nadu would living in dark ages if Arcot monomaniac didn't do any pieceful activity. Karnataka, Telangana and Maharashtra would be in stone age if Bahamani sultans didn't bless these areas. nehru's admiration is more of an asian's ( asiatic's ?? ) admiration for a fellow asiatic . when he wrote this the europeans still ruled india and had superiority complex . they all idolized alexander the great etc . nehru wanted to remind them that asia had produced the biggest conquerer of all time---bigger than alexander---and asians were nothing inferior to them .
