Re: Times Cover
ah, she's lost her ability to read a simple, english word - TIME - now! i suppose, where she lives, she doesn't need it.

They certainly found a way to sensationalize the cover and draw attention to important motherhood issues and challenges..but, too bad, they trivialized (and sexualized) it too.
I wanted to find a nice and funny clip about motherhood..but, could not right away..but, came across this old clip from The Cosby show..it's amusing with the adorable Raven about where babies come..how right babies are picked for the right mothers, and all the hearburn-gas which comes with it!

o
Ya, that was cheap shot, Maria. The title, 'Are you mom enough?' is quite provoking too. Breast freeding 3, 4yr olds? Is it for nutrition or for the sake of attachment? I don't know! My SIL breastfed her daughter until she was 2 1/2, not out of choice but it just happened. She blames it on her MIL, who lives with them, for not co-operating when she wanted to wean the child when she was still young. She faced a lot of difficulties with the prolonged breast feeding and had a hard time weaning her daughter away.
Thanks for the mommy day's wishes. Same to you too .

Re: Times Cover
Both of my kids were allergic to mother's milk...some galactose enzyme issues and since one of us carry the D gene....some crap! So, I don't understand the feeding and the bonding that is created due to breast feeding. Since we have one genetic engineer in our family...well that's a big story, will save it for some other day.
I wonder what the magazine's cover will be for Dad's day?! "Are you Dad Enough?"
I personally feel the cover is insulting.

I actively did until 9-10 months and gradually weaned them away by 14-15 months. Worked out fine for me and the kids.
I agree that the cover is insulting.

-The kid in the picture....i don't know how he'll take it while growing up. to be on the time magazine cover feeding on his mom's breasts is something that can embarrass a teenage boy.
-women everywhere....yeah, the title and the pic. already talked abt it.

Just missed the apostrophe. In case anyone was still wondering about title of the thread.

Apart from the points others mentioned, they are standing. A pretty unusual breast feeding position. But then, that's the point that they are trying to make I guess.
My foremost thought was about the kid in the shoot. Not nice.

Not your problem. They have their own issues. Their self esteem is down in the dumps. Picking up on spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes of unknown ppl on the net boosts up their ego. Be glad that you made somebody's day .

It sends in a message that it is absolutely acceptable to breast feed in public and one is Mom enough to feed their kids till they are 4.

Got the magazine just now. It's an article on Sachin Tendulkar ("The God of Big Things"). A total of 6 pages has been dedicated to him.

Anna...she is not blonde naturally. I look much better than her and was so damn looking when I was 26 and also as of today. If I were to dress like her and pose on the mag cover...it's a different story altogether.
thanks,

Yep! They should publish the picture of me holding a whip in one hand, twirling my moustache with the other and my wife feeding me grapes, while our tired-looking kids do household work - one kid sweeping the floor, one kid grinding idli batter in the old-fashioned grindstone, the third kid washing the utensils.
