Actress Ranjitha has filed suit against Kanchi Kamakoti's Jayendra Saraswati in a non-descript Egmore court where she arrived with a choice coterie of legal luminaries, that Jayendra made unnecessary and scandalous remarks about Ranjitha always being in the company of Nityananda the godman who has ascended to the ivy leagues of saivite mutts (not to be confused with pets). She said he has no locus standi especially since there were a couple of murder cases against Jayendra which are sub-judice. She claimed emotional trauma when some of her friends and her own sister made calls to her (Ranjitha) and inquired about her relations with Nityananda. She claims Jayendra vulgarized her sanctified guru-shishya relationship with her beloved (sic) guru!

Ranjita is hurt and suing the head of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham for having insulted her. She expressed outrage that an indicted murder suspect would slander a "pure as ganga" damsel who was only following her own path to salvation by purposefully during her duty and not seeking anything in return as prescribed in Bhagavad-Gita ("karmayevaadhikaraste maa phaleshu kadaachanaa...")
