thanks for posting this! bookmarked for sometime later tonight. The other day, we were just talking about how much BN has evolved and what has become of it now. These musicians that i am working with were telling me how much the "original styles" have been compromised these days.

I watched a performance last week here. i could not even make out what some of the hand "mudras" meant and i thought to myself, maybe i am old and outdated! maybe this is how song interpretation happens these days.

For my show, i am glad to have picked authentic dandayuthapani style items composed and choreographed by the man himself and i can see how enthusiastic these artists feel performing it with me in the rehearsals. I have resolved to revive real old varnams like mohamahinaen, varuvaano vagai and velanai vara cholladi and perform them. lets see how it goes.

Also decided to throw out enthati kuluke and include yaaradi intha vaasalil in my show, a thamizh song which is real close to my heart:-) this was a suggestion by a musician.
