Is the IPL getting out of hand?
Hi All, I am new here and this is my first post. I assume as cricket followers you would be concerned about what is going on in the IPL.
I am not talking about the cricket or the quality (lack of) thats on display, I am talking about the depravity on show.
I am sure the big monies are going straight where it shouldnt and we will have a bunch of neo rich cricket stars that go around sullying the name of the sport.
I am all for a free market where talent gets rewarded right but that said I feel there is a lot of scope for things to get better in the IPL.

Welcome FlowerPower!
I have not been following IPL at all - hit and giggle cricket that will result in the slow but certain death of test cricket. Kids will aspire to be IPL stars and not focus on the technique and dedication required to play a long innings.
It is more a bollywood show than a sporting event.

welcome to such flowerpower. here are a few things you might want to know:
(i) we are an un-moderated discussion board. although we have an administrator, he rarely logs in unless there is an emergency. this manner of running this board is by popular consensus.
(ii) you might want to set your online status to "hidden." right now your status is not set to "hidden" and members can see when you logged in last. if you want to hide it (the choice is yours), go to profile (a tab on top of the page) --> preferences --> click "yes" to "hide my online staus"
