This guy says no..they might become a world power like Britain France etc in 19th century, not like America in second part of 20th century...

China needs allies. Ruskies had allies comparable to the US. Britain had allies comparable to the French in the 19th century. Even Germany had limited alliance.

Who are/will be China's allies? Pakistan and Iran. All the countries it is trying to influence are for economic reason, and they dont trust the Chinks fully. it better befriend its neighbors - Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Russia or India to become a potent power in this world. It is fighting some 5 countries and several extended countries over a few islands in the south pacific - not good, and not at all a smart strategy to become a superpower.
