Her father - Tamilian, mother - Malayalee, first husband - Telugu (PKN Rao), second husband - Punjabi (Sahgal) from Lahore, a sister (Mrinalini Sarabhai) married to a Gujrati (Vikram Sarabhai), trained as a doctor, fought as a soldier, was a war prisoner to the British, lived to be 94, just died yesterday. LS was also.a candidate for president of india in a previous election. 'Remarkable' is apt word to describe her.
