Justice finally; with this departure the police chief and the cop who casually pepper-sprayed peaceful protestors are both gone. I am glad the UC system has listened to students and alumni and done the right thing in the end. I hope criminal charges are filed as well and the students who were pepper-sprayed receive compensation from the school.

And now the university has settled with the victims and agreed to pay $30,000 in compensation to each of the pepper-sprayed students. No criminal charges, though.

Goes to prove how difficult it is to remove an administrator from a position at a University. They act like a mafia protecting each other and covering up their dirty laundry until the outside forces go after them.

Perhaps this is how things are done at higher level at all institutions - corporate, financial, government or academic - all over the world.
