And guess which middle-class lover spearheaded outsourcing of jobs to Mexico under NAFTA?

"As the Democratic Convention continues, and generates positive headlines due to competent storytelling and effective use of show business tactics, it’s important to recognize that the ultimate meat of governing – policy – is disconnected from the election. It’s not that the election doesn’t matter to people, because clearly, people care deeply about which icon is on their TV telling them about their political system. But recognize that the showbiz is not the policy, that the showbiz isn’t even related to the policy.

Re: Promises, promises...
this is a very good tactic that the dems can learn from republicans. instead of attacking the republicans from the left, they should learn to attack them from the right. as an example, expose the fake deficit hawk on the ticket for what he really is. i thought clinton started doing that last night. that tactic should continue.

Republicans will win this election - just that some of them go under the label Democrats these days. Obama is further right than Reagan.
The hollywood style drama at the conventions make good entertainment.
May Wall Street goons bless America!

i can't let that go without comment. passing universal healthcare is not something reagan would have had the stomach to even countenance. reagan was no friend of labor unions. and reagan was definitely not pro-choice. being pro-business is not the same thing as supporting unbridled and unregulated oligarchic structures.

The Dem party's stance on social issues like pro-choice follows the "liberal" definition, I admit but what about policies that drive the economy and country? How come not one Wall Street criminal has been brought to justice yet? How long will "Too Big To Fail" rule America? Why was the money pumped into the banks instead of the people?
The entire political spectrum has been shifting right and the conservatives of today will never accept some of Reagan's actions. Obama(his administration) is yet another lackey of the 1%ers. Pro-rich, that's what they all are when it comes to policies.
Getting back to Obama vs Reagan, here's a comparison

Politicians dont give a shit about the country. They do what ever is good politics. People decide what is good politics. These days the one with loudest voice wins.
