The election is still six weeks away, but the blame game in the GOP is already well underway. Erick Erickson now says he "did not want Romney" as the nominee, and blames "elitist jerks" of the GOP establishment for Romney winning the nomination. And he wants every bridge burned with those "elitist jerks" with those jerks tied to the bridges as they burn.

I think different sections of the GOP recognize the coming civil war in November, and they are preparing their opening positions for battle. They cannot possibly admit that their ideology -- which Romney eagerly pursued to the detriment of his own credibility -- failed, so they will have to find other reasons.
