A flip flop a day keeps the stench away
Romney says the president raised taxes:
And then he says he didn't.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/25/mitt-romney-obama-taxes_n_1914636.html
It is interesting to see Ryan's expression when Romney says Obama didn't raise taxes. I guess that's why Ryan has taken to calling Romney "The Stench" per Politico: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0912/81618.html?hp=r10
In other flip flop news, Romney paid more in income taxes in 2011 than he is legally required to do, in order to keep his effective tax rate at a level that doesn't look ridiculously low to the average voter who pays more than he does. Here he is from another time: "I don't pay more [taxes] than are legally due. And frankly, if I had paid more than are legally due, then I don't think I'd be qualified to become president."
The best part of this is that he can submit a revised return later claiming the full deduction he's entitled to and reduce his tax rate to single digits -- whether he wins or loses the election -- and he won't have to disclose that to the public.
And then he says he didn't.

Mr. Romney really is like no other politician or even a CEO (unless he is a character- funny villain in Tamil movies!) I have ever seen..
Did you see the clip- with Ryan..when the crowd starts chanting "Ryan, Ryan" and he stops them and says "Romney-Ryan".."Romney-Ryan"..and the Republican crowd goes cold, and he hardly gets any enthusiastic response..can't make this stuff up:) !
*The debates may be entertaining and fun! But, at this point, as 4-star general Axelrod knows, it's all about the ground game and who is better..get the troops- foot soldiers ready..close elections are always won on the ground.

Whoa. I hadn't seen that video, had to look it up. As cringe-worthy political moments go, it is hard to beat this one.Maria S wrote:Mr. Romney really is like no other politician or even a CEO (unless he is a character- funny villain in Tamil movies!) I have ever seen..

Nothing shows more empathy, and that's why he will repeal it at the national level. It is against Romney's American Values to ensure that all children have health insurance. Empathy is the first step on the slippery slope towards socialism.Maria S wrote:Say what? I mean..

Carvaka,
Nice to see that you were able to find that special video clip!
Speaking of clips..will leave Mr. Mitt alone today! Paavam:)
Assuming you don't mind me posting about this here..it was an odd presentation by Mr. Netanyahu at the UN today (you may have seen this)..speech aside..that bomb illustration was odd and cool- quite primary schoolish!

Mitt Romney's latest flip flop... that he was completely wrong about what he said to rich donors behind closed doors, and that he was also completely wrong when he stood by his words a couple of weeks ago. In celebration of this great flip flop, here is a video of the Best of Mitt Romney.

Re: A flip flop a day keeps the stench away
Here Mitt explains how his thought process works. Watch from 07:15.
Romney: I was effectively pro-choice some years ago when I ran for office against Ted Kennedy, and yet when I became governor...
Host: "virtually" pro-choice?
Romney: I never called myself pro-choice. I avoided the term pro-choice. But I said I would preserve and protect a woman's right to choose under the laws as they existed. And so I was effectively pro-choice. And then when the rhetoric was finally matched with authority, and I became governor, and I actually had a bill that came to my desk, ... I said, frankly, that Roe v. Wade had gone too far, that I was wrong, and that I was pro-life.
And then there's some religion-focused bullshit from host and Romney. And then, at 9:57...
Romney: Every decision I took as governor was in favor of life.
After that, a fascinating "off the air" discussion between the extreme religious wingnut host and Romney. At the end of that, at 13:40...
Romney: So what should I do? Tell me what I should do. I should not have been pro-choice. And therefore I'm just finished, right there.
And after that, another antediluvian discussion on religion and government.

Re: A flip flop a day keeps the stench away
Romney's flip flop seem to convince the electorate or they seem to give him a pass because he wiped the floor with obama during the debate.
Romney now pulled close or even in several key states.
His momemtum may take him past obama before next debate.
Romney is also using this opportunity to cleanup the mess of his 47% comment. He also decided to move to the center. His party is now fully with him.
A lot of damage will be done by second debate. If obama does not ruturn the favor in second debate, he will return to chicago disappointed.

Wipe the floor..Yes Mr. Romney did... with a half-smile like the great Stephen Colbert said..(can't get enough of Stephen these days:)
So funny! (the last few secs- the expressions are priceless )
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/05/colbert-mitt-romney-smile-debate-video_n_1942943.html?utm_hp_ref=comedy
*But, like many of the Pres. supporters..I blame him and am still perplexed ..may be he was "out of it" for some good reason..the way Mr. Romney was switching positions flipping and flopping so fast..he was totally perplexed too and his head was spinning!
Looks like Mr. Mitt is beginning to even cry now..like he did last night in Florida..dismantling his robotic image..I am not sure how the Pres. can deal with the unexpected from him..will not be surprised if the polls show that Big Bird is very popular..may turn it around and say in the next debate that he has fallen in love with the good Yellow Birdie all over again!
*I have never seen a politician like him, anywhere!
