If Obama wins, it will be blamed on the devils in Africa for sending Sandy to US.
If Romney wins, it will be praised as a weapon sent by God to save US from the African Obama.

Re: Sandy Obama OR Sandy Romney
Good Morning!
Everyone in the path of Sandy..be safe!
Just came back from a trip to OH and MI..it was eye-opening..if all perceptions are real- did not expect such anti-Obama (more than pro-Romney) feelings beneath the surface in the suburbs of OH and MI..*felt a little down.
On a happy note..got to watch Bill Maher live at the Fox theater in Detroit..memorable and what a magnificient-grand theater! It's a must see for anyone who likes the theater/Broadway shows! Bill looks much better in person (reminded me of tamil actor Surya..short, but effervescent and dynamic- ok, 15 mins of religion bashing in 120 mins was tolerable, because he is not mean or offensive..and I am not his friend!)Since the Baseball field was so close by..it was like a festival like atmosphere outside too..not a baseball fan..so, had no favs. See that it was a sweep for the Giants.
The election suspense is interesting, but, whatever it will be, will be.. storms like Sandy kind of put things in perspective.
take care everyone.

Anti-Obama feeling in Ohio after he help save the auto-industry there? The country deserves a lying CEO and hope they don't complain when he shows his "Severely conservative" stance after getting to the White House.

Early voting will certainly get disrupted, and poor people are typically more affected by natural disasters so they will have a harder time getting to the polls on Election Day. This should certainly be a matter of concern for Team Obama.

I want to see Bill Maher live. I like his sense of humor, and I agree with him on a lot of issues.Maria S wrote:On a happy note..got to watch Bill Maher live at the Fox theater in Detroit..memorable and what a magnificient-grand theater! What you say about anti-Obama feelings is interesting. The poll numbers are too close for comfort, but I hope enough of his supporters do make it out to vote in the swing states.

I hope you have the opportunity to watch Bill live! It's time and money well spent..fun and memorable:)
And I agree with him too, except for the faith part and having children part. But, what he says about the hierarchy of organized religions is true. I like the Libertarian stances he takes, and apparently he is a vegetarian who loves and cares for animals (did not know that before the show!)
As for suburban OH and MI voters- the environments I was in, there is something palpable beneath every conversation (I don't want to call it racial undertones) Any objective person can see that the economy has improved in those two states..and there was no good reason to deny the President's efforts..but, who knows, what can happen next week?
Speaking of the unpredictable and unknowns..who would have thought Sandy would arrive the way she did, where she did, and do what she did? No brilliant expert- political, weather..well, really no one predicted this..even 10 days ago. The awesome power of nature, reminders of human limitations..can't give up yet..if one does not have some audacity of hope for better things, even when storms rage and all the aftermath..what else is there to keep us motivated and help us keep doing what we have to do in life:)

*Oh..forgot to add..Sandy reminded us about the role of Govt/FEMA too..
We folks in the South know..after going through all the Tornadoes, Hurricanes..devastation we have..how important the Federal Govt help is and makes a difference..when it's timely and efficient. Don't think we can trust the State Govts (heaven forbid the private sector/corporations!) to "take control" and protect "everyone".
Predictable..how Mr. Romney would switch positions now.

I am sure you has a hidden agenda. The disaster, FEMA, etc... are another route to give tax breaks, tax write offs for the wealthy and the Looters living in his NE region.
Hope the South and the (Stupid) Texans see why should never support anyone from NE...

Re: Sandy Obama OR Sandy Romney
Indeed! Depending on what happens next Tuesday, either side can blame / credit the storm, but at the end of the day this shows how difficult the game of making predictions is. I think the race is now frozen with the last 4-5 days of active campaigning cut out of it. Which leaves just the frantic final weekend push -- when nobody says anything significant and there is hardly any movement in either direction.Maria S wrote:Speaking of the unpredictable and unknowns..who would have thought Sandy would arrive the way she did, where she did, and do what she did?
